Living in AZ and loving it!

Phew! What I November we had!

First off... We moved to AZ!!!! YAY!!!!!

I miss Idaho way more that I thought I would. For crying out loud I've spent the last 8 years trying to get back to AZ and now that I'm here I miss it! But I think that's just the way life is.

It's been so great to catch up with a bunch of old friends, spend lots of time with my mom and sister, and have decent shopping options. I am loving photographing on a regular basis now. I will be posting some of my favorites from November soon.

Here are just a few images from the Facebook Profile Picture Party that we did the first weekend we moved. Enjoy!

The Petersen Family

Josh Petersen is a phenomenal photographer. I know him because we both worked for Gugelman Photography in Rexburg. This year Gugelman sold his studio to Josh.

I get my family portraits taken every year. This year I had Josh take mine and I in turn took some for his family. I can't wait to post the ones he took of me because they are truly stunning (in my unbiassed opinion). I loved being photographed by Josh and even learned a thing of two just by watching him. I highly recommend him to anyone in East Idaho.

Here are a few of Josh and his beautiful family:

Nail Party! Featuring Nail Utoepia by Tessa!

A few weeks ago I was at the park and I saw this chick with the cutest toe nails I have ever seen! I had to go up to her and ask her where she got them done. She said that there was a girl named Tessa who did nail airbrushing parties and then gave me her number.

I called Tessa and scheduled my party. It was..... AWESOME!
Not only was it so much fun to have a girls night with my best friends but we all went nuts for our nails. I get so excited every time I look at my feet.

I am so sad I discovered Nail Utoepia by Tessa a month before I move to Arizona. I wish I could have a nail party every month for the rest of my life. But there's hope! Tessa has a brother in law living in Gilbert AZ! (What are the odds right!?) So someday I hope she comes and visit her brother in law and then I can throw a nail party in AZ.

If you live in Rexburg please contact Tessa. If you don't want a party she does them individually at well at her home. You deserve cute toes! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Nail-Utoepia-by-Tessa/779861488697619

My toes are the teal and white chevron. So trendy :)

Mower Grandkids

A few weeks ago two of my sister in laws came up to Rexburg and stayed with Nate and me. It was so great to see them! Before they left it dawned on us that all of the Mower grandkids were together, so of course we ran outside to snap a picture. What amazes me is we had limited clothing options but somehow we were able to pull something together.

Ladies and gentlemen I give you..... the Mower grandkids!

Do you know what is crazy?
Neal (far left) and Sharlie (far right) are only 5 days apart!
Sharlie makes Neal look like a tiny chubby bald baby.
She looks more like Darrow's age (middle) who is 4 months older.

Also Blaine (second from the right) and Erik (second from the left) are 4 months apart!
They look more like a year apart.

I guess I have short kids.
Cute, but short.

Jackson WY trip with my parents

I just came across some images from a day trip I took with my parents in May of 2013. My parent's were visiting me in Rexburg and my dad started talking about wanting to do something cool. I told him if he was willing to wake up at 3am to go drive to Jackson before sunrise then I could take him to some amazing places and we could take some landscapes. He agreed and the next day we made the long, early drive to some of the most scenic places on earth. Blaine came along with us and we had such a great day!

Before we headed home we ate breakfast at The Bunnery. It was fantastic! A definite must for all traveling through Jackson.

Here are some images I took as well as a few behind the scenes action:

The Teton Mountain Range.

Best News Ever! Kate Mower Photography is moving to Gilbert Arizona this November!!!

Yes, you read correctly! Nate and I are going to be permanent residents of the East Valley and are open for business! It's been a long journey but it's finally time to set me free back to my native land. While Nate is dreading the 120 degree AZ summers I am grateful to escape the -20 degree Idaho winters.

We have loved our time in Rexburg, but both know it's time for a new chapter in our lives and that chapter starts with running our own studio full time. That's right! I've been growing and learning for the last 5 years and it's finally time to spread my wings and give my all to my business! There is a fire inside of me that has been pushing me to run my own studio and my dreams are about to come true!

How will it work? Well, Nate will run my studio and I will do all of the photography! We're such a great team and this will allow us to spend maximum time with our kiddos and give us the freedom we need to run our business the way we want. We are so excited! After working for the last five years for one of the top portrait studios in the Nation, I am ready to take what I have learned about how to run a successful studio and take a leap into what I know will be a huge growing experience.

Thank you! Yes you! Past clients, family, friends, random person who stalks my Facebook and blog, and anyone who is reading this post! We love you and appreciate your support!
